"If you are drowning please do not try to get our attention by waving frantically."

knitwit

I have been knitting like a fiend. In June. Why?
I don't know except that I sit in a parking lot and 'attend' it on fri and sat from 5-10 and just knit and knit because what else should I do? I get $6/hour and make one item every night.

Here's some stuff I made ....

This turqouise/white fun fur scarf I made in one evening sitting in the parking lot. Yay.

I just started this one, it looks much cooler than this photo shows.

I made this belt last Saturday night. Took me about 3 hours. It is hard to see in this photo but it is silver sparkly black. It actually stays flat in my belt loops and I keep it closed with a vintage celluloid bar pin that says HUBBA HUBBA.

ooh look at me!

I'm posting! I'm blogging! Woo!
So, yeah, I suppose I have been busy. Working. I work a lot but still make very little money. It's fabulous, I tell ya.
Let's see ... what's new ... what's new .... I have been busy designing a web site for a group of local friends - really, it won't make any sense to you if I try to explain it, but it's fun.

I'm applying to EIU's Board of Trustees BA program ... I can do it all online but I know I am doing this late and am worried about getting in on time and getting financial aid. My second toe on my left foot has been numb for 3-4 days now. I'm going to the doctor in an hour or so to have them explain this phenomenon to me before my toe turns blue and falls off. I think it is all due to fishnet socks cuttign off my toe circulation one night. Gah! The price of fashion! And they were only knee-highs that peeked out from my calf-length pants. So unnecessary.

There just isn't that much interesting to tell you. chairI found a chair in perfect condition sitting out with the garbage near this apartment building - seafoam green vinyl 40s chair with dark wood carved arms & feet. It's extra thick and cushy and big and it tips back into a reclining position. It's fan-freakin-tastic. And free!
Lately I spend Saturday mornings with The Kid going to rummage and yard sales and the farmer's market (that has the best blueberries EVER). Sunday night poker. Working. That's about it.

I have been online, just not blogging. Not much to say. But here's some fun stuff I have found lately:

Bowling For Nuns

This Guy Likes TRON

This Guy Likes The Karate Kid ... or showers.

One man's clown socks is another woman's fashion extravaganza!

skate park

I discovered a huge skate park that was created when I must have moved out of town, about 3 years ago. It's great, The Kid loves watching them and it is right next to the local pool and a park. Close enough to walk if it is decent outside. I took my camera last time just for some excercises in photography ... for fun. This was one of my favorite shots:
